   Digital scans capture your teeth and facial features, showing how you look when you smile, talk, laugh and show other emotions. Your scans are then used to create a custom treatment plan where you can preview the design.

   We then use these digital scans to make a physical model of your new teeth which you can try in your mouth to see how they look and feel. Based on your feedback after trying the temporary smile on, any desired modifications can still be made. For example, if you feel the modeled teeth looked too long or short, adjustments can still be made.

2. Quadrant Dentistry – What is it and How Will it Benefit You?

   If you need an extensive amount of dental treatment, it can seem a little daunting, but this is where quadrant dentistry can be helpful. Quadrant dentistry can save you time, money, and discomfort.

   What is Quadrant Dentistry?
   Imagine your mouth is divided into four quarters: upper left, upper right, lower left, lower right. Each quarter is called a quadrant and has between five and eight teeth.

   What Are the Advantages of Quadrant Dentistry?
   Quadrant dentistry allows Dr Rick to work on teeth in one or more of these quadrants during a single appointment. Doing several visits of work in one session is more desirable and comfortable, as you only have to go through anesthesia once.

   As fewer appointments are needed, you’ll spend less time in the dental chair. Because you need fewer visits to restore dental health, it reduces the overall cost of treatment and your mouth is restored to better health faster.

3. It’s Time to Use It or Lose It!

   The New Year fast approaching and most private health insurance dental benefits expire on the 31st December.

   Unfortunately, most health funds do not allow rollover of benefits – they take a USE IT OR LOSE IT APPROACH.

   It is essential that if you have any required treatment that they are booked in and completed before the end of the calendar year so you can maximise the use of your private health insurance benefits.

   If you haven’t had a check-up in the last 6 months or you just want a quick polish, it may be an idea to book an appointment now so we can schedule any required treatment before your benefits expire. As this is a heavily booked time of the year we recommend that you schedule an appointment for as soon as possible as many of our patients take the opportunity to get their dental treatment completed just before their limits for the year run out.
